My name is Julian Broich and I live in Duisburg, Germany. I was born in 1981 and I grew up influenced by lots of different board and pen and paper games but also with access to Commodore 64, Amiga and PC Games - not to mention Playstation and Nintendo in the early 90s.
I took my first steps in the Games Industry as an intern and working part time as a game tester for Softgold GmbH back in 96/97 – play- and bug testing games such as LucasArts Grim Fandago. In 99/00 I also had the opportunity to voluntary work as a so called Counselor for Origins (now EA) MMORPG Ultima Online, where I helped players and gave in game support.
After I finished school in 2000 and Business College in 2005, I started working as a Trainee in product and project management in the Games but also Music Industry. When in January 2007 I finally started working as a fulltime Product Manager for Computer, Console and Mobile Games for rondomedia GmbH.
Some of my tasks as a Product Manager were to manage and coordinate all product relevant internal and external team’s, define roadmaps and communicate milestone feedback and approvals, perform market research and establish new product partnerships.
More than twelve years have passed since then and I had the chance to manage and launch more than a hundred titles, including some award winning and top ranked games. I was able to work with talented people from around the world and from companies such as Nintendo, BigFish, Ubisoft, PopCap and many more.
Until April 2018 I’ve worked at astragon Entertainment as the Head of Submission Management taking care of submission processes and mastering for our PC, Console and Mobile Games and being the technical contact person for Apple, Google, Valve and others.
Just recently I started as the new Sales Manager at Headup GmbH, an award winning publisher known for titles such as Bridge Constructor and The Inner World.
